Dinosaur Park

In Las Vegas, there are plenty of things to do with your kids, it’s even better when it’s free!  Today, was a perfect warm sunny day to have fun outdoors with my family.

We went to Dinosaur Park (Aliante Nature Discovery Park).  This park is a great place for everyone.  During our visit, we were amazed by the beautiful waterfalls, the birds, and cute turtles swimming in the pond and sun bathing. One was hanging out on the walking pathway – another was doing yoga (here’s a picture of him).

The playground itself is gated with one entrance that has a high latch opening for parents to reach, but keeps children safe inside the playground.  The playground features large slides, a jungle gym, swings and a smaller playground for smaller children.  The slides were pretty big – I was scared to go down them, my husband and sister tried them out with the kids and seemed to have a blast!

There is also a water zone, as many parks have incorporated.  The water zone is seasonal and closed during the winter time to keep from water freezing for safety reasons.

The most unique aspect of this park is obviously in its name – the Dinosaurs.  There is a large sand pit with a huge Triceratops, other smaller Dinosaurs, fossils buried in the sand, Dinosaur eggs and a walk way made of Dinosaur ribs.

Close to the park is a shopping center including Smiths, Starbucks, KFC, a pizzeria, Carl’s Jr. and Capriotti’s.

Definitely, a park worth visiting.

Dinosaur Park (Aliante Nature Discovery Park) is located by Aliante Casino, off N Aliante Pkwy & Deer Springs Way.
